How We Can Help With Your Settlement Agreement
We will normally ask you to send us a copy of the employment settlement agreement which you can do by email. We will check that we have not advised your employer at any time and then we will arrange a meeting either in person or by telephone at your convenience. You will need to provide us with two types of identification normally a recent utility bill and a photo ID for example passport or driving licence.
At the meeting, a member of our expert employment law team will review the agreement and speak to you about events leading up to it. It helps us if you have a chronology of events if the matter has been ongoing for some time. We will then explore all options available to you and we will agree the best way forward together. We avoid legalese and communicate in plain English and in a no-nonsense manner. Following the meeting, we write to you to advise you as to the next steps and summarise our understanding. We ask you to consider your options, revert with any questions and come back to us when you have decided how you wish to proceed.
We appreciate that although this may be a common agreement for us that to you it is new and also that you may need time to process events. We aim to work with you so that when you have finalised matters you are in the best possible position to move on.
